An eczema rash covering most of the skin on a baby girl’s torso. Eczema is skin inflammation characterized by an itchy rash and small blisters that weep and become crusted. The condition is sometimes triggered by an external factor, but often the cause is unknown. Atopic dermatitis – with a 75% chance of inheriting the condition if it runs in the family – is common in babies, usually appearing between the ages of two months and 18 months.
